Craps is an exciting and fast-paced game that's been romanticized in many Hollywood movies like "Guys and Dolls". Just like in the movies, Hollywood Casino Aurora offers you the hottest Craps action. Three dealers work together to deal the game, whose wagers are decided by the point value on each roll of the dice. No matter where you are on the rail, there's a host of wagers available to you. Our friendly dealers and floor personnel will be glad to help you with any questions about the game.
Craps Rules and Information
Exciting and fast-paced, Craps offers many different betting options. Three dealers work together on the game, and the outcome of your wagers are decided by the roll of a pair of dice. A shooter is the player who rolls the dice. The come out roll is the first roll of the dice that establishes the point. A point is when the value of the dice on a come out roll is equal to 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
You can make a single bet, or a combination of bets. Following are some of your betting options:
Pass Line is when you bet that the shooter will win. On the come out roll, 7 and 11 win and 2, 3 or 12 loses. Any other number rolled becomes the point. The shooter must roll the point again before rolling a 7 to win. If 7 is rolled before the point, the shooter loses, and the dice pass to the next shooter. This bet is called a contract bet and must remain on the layout until it wins or loses.
Don't Pass Line Bet, the opposite of Pass Line, is when a 7 and 11 loses on the first roll, and 2 or 3 wins (12 becomes a standoff). Once a point is established, a 7 must be rolled before the point can win. However, if the point is rolled first, this bet loses. This bet may be removed but cannot be replaced.
Come Bet can be made on any or every roll after a point is established. This bet will move to the number rolled unless it is the established point. The same rules apply for this as the Pass Line bet.
Don't Come Bet can be made on any or every roll after a point is established, too. However, the same rules as the Don't Pass Line bet apply.
Odds Bet is a wager in addition to your original Pass, Don't Pass, Come or Don't Come wager. It is placed after the point has been established, and the dealer can tell you the maximum Odds amount. Odds on the come out roll are inactive unless you tell the dealer that the Odds are "working" on the come out roll. Odds laid against Don't bets aren't always working.
Place Bet is a wager that the shooter will roll a specific number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) before rolling a 7. Placed by the dealer, these bets can be taken back at any time prior to a 7 roll. Simply tell the dealer your bet, and he or she will set it up.
Field Bet is placed on one roll. If a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12 is rolled, you win. 2 pays double, 12 pays triple and the other numbers pay even money.
Hardway Bets are wagers that an exact paired combination of 4, 6, 8 or 10 will be rolled before a 7. For example, "hard six" is two 3s. Placed by the dealer, this bet loses if a 7 rolls first or if the number rolls as a non-paired (soft) combination.
Proposition Bets are when you win if the combination of the dice you bet on rolls. These bets are also placed for you by the dealer and can be made anytime before a roll.
Hop Bets (or sometimes referred as jump bets) are a one-roll bet consisting of the exact number value of each individual die. To win, the sum of both dice and the individual value of each die must be called prior to the roll. Individual numbers as well as groups of numbers may be hopped.
There are a total of 36 possible dice combinations however; because both dice can have only 1 total value per roll there are only 17 Hop Bet possibilities (excluding 2, 3, 11, 12 which are proposition bets).
The possible Hop rolls are:
4, 5, 9, 10 can all be rolled two separate ways.
Two-way four hopping 4(3-1 2-2)
